Sirsia, home to numerous Santhal Christian families, had long been under the care of Purnea parish. With the establishment of Dharan, the apostolate in Sirsia found renewed vigor and support. Presently, an extensive social development project is underway, aiming to uplift the neglected tribal communities.
In Sirsia, a primary school has been inaugurated to cater to the most impoverished children from the Dalit and Santhal communities. Additionally, educational support is extended to underprivileged individuals in the vicinity through sponsorship programs. Across borders, the commencement of work in Nepal holds profound significance. While the apostolate in Nepal began independently under the Kolkata Province in 1993, its continued success owes much to the robust collaboration and support from the Salesian Province of Bangalore since 1996.
