GOODNIGHT

The "Good Night" is a bedtime tradition practiced in Salesian houses, inspired by Don Bosco's mother, Margherita Occhiena. This technique helps children and young adults reflect on their day, inviting them to think about an event, good or bad, and record it as a "little pebble in their memory." As Fr. Jean-Marie Petitclerc explains, "I invite young people to reflect on an event from their day... to marvel at it or, on the contrary, to question themselves about it." This practice, originating from Don Bosco's family, encourages reflection, honesty, and personal growth, with gentle, kind words that help build personality and human and spiritual growth.
